Why Use a Travel Agent

Just because you know how to use the Internet doesn’t mean you can do it better than a travel agent

Travel agents have access to wholesale rates or net rates that you can’t get online. These rates are exclusive to travel agents. Most airlines like supporting travel agents and we have buying power.  We are able to get better private rates than those you’re seeing online through big consumer sites.  While the Internet has made it very easy to shop and book online, most people make mistakes that they don’t even realize they are making.

Book your trip well in advance

Flights do not go down in price, unless there is a random seat sale, and those sales do not happen very often. Last minute deals are pretty much a thing of the past. Hotel prices go up as their rooms get booked and inventory gets low. If there ever are amazing last minute deals or travel agent specials, I promise you will find them on my HOT DEALS tab on my website. In the last few years, industry professionals have gone away from last minute deals. The amount of money they were losing was not worth it, so most have stopped offering them.

Many online agencies are competing for your business; why wouldn’t you book with a human?

If you find a great deal on-line, a travel agent will always be able to price match, and more often than not they will get you a better deal. One of my biggest pet peeves is that people assume that travel agencies are more expensive. Some agencies, like VACATION BRAT don’t even charge a booking fee. And remember, everyone’s travel preferences are different, so wouldn’t you prefer to work with a professional travel agent that can customize your trip to your exact expectations.  Travel agents will take the time to get to know you and your vacation interests, unlike the massive on-line companies out there.
